The regulator has expanded the rights of consumers to sell electricity generated from their own generating facilities

On May 9, 2023, the NEURC decided to grant all electricity consumers (both domestic and non-domestic) the right to sell electricity produced by the generating and/or storage facility of such a consumer to any supplier under a free contract and at a contractual price.
This decision will help to expand competition in the retail electricity market and is aimed at developing distributed generation and ensuring the green transformation of the energy sector.
