Electricity tariffs need to be doubled: a loud statement by former Energy Minister Orzhel
Electricity tariffs have increased in Ukraine since June 1
As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to almost double electricity tariffs for households. The new tariffs came into effect on June 1. Now there is a single tariff of UAH 2.64 per kilowatt-hour. Initially, it was planned to raise prices to UAH 2.88 per kilowatt-hour, but the government changed its mind in favor of the minimum tariff.
But, as the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine notes , it is possible to save money with two-zone and three-zone tariffs. According to these tariffs, the cost of electricity will depend on the time of consumption. During peak hours of electricity consumption, the cost will be charged at the full tariff, while during off-peak hours it can be much cheaper.
