A program of preferential loans for the installation of solar panels is being prepared for Ukrainians!
This was announced by Andriy Gapon, Chairman of the Board of the State Regional Development Fund, during a press conference at Ukrinform entitled “Energy Efficiency: Ready-made Solutions and Affordable Financing for Business Development” and a workshop on supporting the financing of energy-efficient solutions for SMEs under the “Add Energy to Your Business” program. “This is a rather unusual category of recipients for us, as the FRF used to focus only on supporting Ukrainian businesses , primarily micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The idea is that with the additional funding we have found, private household owners can take out consumer loans from the partner banks of the new budget program to compensate for the body of loans issued for the installation of solar panels,” explained Gapon.
“According to our estimates, 3,000 households will be able to install solar panels under the upcoming program. Thus, they will, firstly, provide themselves with energy and, at least during some periods, will not depend on the general grid, and secondly, they will be able to sell the remaining energy to the state. I hope we will quickly develop a mechanism that would satisfy Ukrainian citizens who want to use such energy-efficient solutions,” summarized Gapon.
As reported, the FRP administers the program to support the financing of energy-efficient investments “Add Energy to Your Business”. The program is financed by a EUR 7 million loan from the German government to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine through the German Development Bank KfW, and with financial support from the European Union. Ukrgasbank and Bank Lviv are the authorized banks for the program.
